Respond – the interactive culture was a container installation at the Taste festival in Hobart in December 2008. A collaboration between Mordini and Drive West today.

Our idea/concept:

The shipping container is filled with newsprint sheets, textured and coloured paper on the walls and hanging from suspended ropes. Moving images and words will light the space using a visual projector. Music/Sound will be improvised by Drive West today with willing audience members, constantly reacting to the slowly evolving environment. Passers by will be invited to respond by writing their emotions, thoughts, scribbles and artwork upon paper and pinning them on the walls and upon suspended string throughout the space. Observers are drawn into the process of interacting with a dynamic environment through sight, sound and touch, becoming observers no more! Thus simulating the processes of cultural development.
